Wind storm damage

A few nights ago we had a crazy wind storm, blowing everything around and shaking the windows all night. We lost a few shingles from our roof, but our house is made of brick and won't be blown over by a few huffs and puffs outside :)
But, two of the largest evergreen trees in the park behind our house did catch the wind and got torn up by the roots. Yikes! Makes you really believe in having "deep roots" to hold you firm during life's storms.
Here is a picture from my back fence, looking at the roots of both trees. We're lucky they both fell the direction they did or our fence would have been pulverized!

We went out the park to explore and take a few pictures. Here's a view of the full size of one of the trees:

Our friend Holly and her boys also came to the park to see the sights, so we got to "oooh" and "awwww" together.

  3. I can't believe those trees feel down in a wind storm! They're huge! I'm so glad your property, (and more importantly, your Family,) was okay! That must have been some crazy wind! Hope all, (else,) is well with you guys! Miss you!
