Wednesday was a free day at the zoo! I had planned a fun day with Daddy and Grandma and Grandpa, but then Daddy had a last minute meeting at work and Grandma and Grandpa got scared off by the snow. So, we decided to head up early and brave the weather to have our snow day at the zoo!
Our zoo has a new baby elephant but due to inclement weather, this was the closest we came to getting to see a real elephant in the snow. We did get to see the baby giraffe though! What a cutie!
The big cats were very active in the snow and we got to see lots of pacing by the cougars (Sarah sang the BYU fight song for me!)
and the tiger (the other tigers were sleeping). Sarah loved the thought that she was going to walk under a tiger
and then get to play on one!
The big turtle was moving around too. Rachel didn't feel too secure by the rope barricade and wasn't as excited about the turtles as Sarah was.
Sarah even got a picture of Mommy and Rachel at the zoo!
How fun! We love going to the zoo too. Sounds like it was a pretty good time to go. We always go when it's so hot outside and all the animals just sit in the shade. It makes sense to go when it's not boiling hot outside.
